Home Remodel With Gas Fireplaces

Gas Fireplaces by Murray Lampert DBR, www.murraylampert.comToday is the first day of fall, which means it’s a great time to consider a new gas fireplace if you are remodeling or adding space. Fireplaces add a beautiful look and cozy atmosphere to a living space while providing heat and comfort during the colder months.

Home Safety & Going Green

Due to green building codes, the days of traditional wood burning fireplaces are over. Smoke emitted from burning natural wood or artificial logs pollutes our environment and can also be a fire hazard.

The Good News!Fireplaces by Murray Lampert DBR, www.murraylampert.com

There are plenty of beautiful fireplaces available called “gas appliances” that make a design statement and also can provide heat with blowers that are controlled by a switch or remote control.  Not only are these sealed units safe and eco-friendly, they are cost effective, easy to install and can vent directly out an exterior wall, so a big stack is not necessarily unless it is for an architectural element.

Quality Fireplace Manufacturers

Heat and Glow or Heatilator are the leading brands installed by professional contractors. When shopping, especially online, be careful.  Prices you see may only include the firebox, log holder and gas logs. There are other costs like venting, gas supply and installation that should be factored in. I recommend purchasing fireplaces through your contractor to insure proper installation and warranty coverage.
