Consumer confidence in home improvement is nearly 100 percent and San Diego is one of the leading markets in the U.S. According to the recent survey conducted by a well respected national publication, many home remodeling projects large and small, return more than 100 percent of their cost in resale. This means you can actually make money by investing in home improvement!

Topping the list is installing attic insulation, which returns at 176 percent. This makes sense because of the impact insulation has in reducing energy costs. An energy efficient home is very attractive to buyers.

Curb appeal is another consideration. Garage door replacement returns 129 percent of cost and a new entry door is 122 percent. Both of these upgrades are relatively non-invasive and will improve the look of the home immediately.

Many San Diegan’s need more space, so consider a room addition. Family room additions return 100% of their cost thanks to the added square footage they bring to the home.

When you factor in improving your quality of life and increasing the value of your home, hiring a professional to complete improvements is a smart investment.
