You may think rain gutters are unimportant. Hopefully, the unexpected recent Spring storm didn’t catch you off guard. If your guttering system doesn’t function properly, you may have found out the hard way. Here’s why you need rain gutters:
The purpose of rain gutters is to collect fluids and provide positive drainage helping to avoid leaks or water traveling into areas that can cause dry wrought or structural damage.
Over time, your gutters can fill up with leaves and other debris. Also, often times, the wrong fasteners have been used and Santa Ana winds can cause your gutters to detach. For these reasons, it’s important to have your gutters properly installed, and maintain them regularly.
There are some great colors and finishes available with new rain gutters. A perfect time to consider installing new seamless rain gutters is when you remodel or re-roof.
Even if you only need maintenance or repairs, I recommend an annual inspection. There are ways to enhance or improve your existing rain gutter system, like installing leaf guards, that can make a big difference in your regular maintenance.
