Remodel Start to Finish: Design Development
Presented by Murray Lampert Design, Build, Remodel
As our resident pro Gregg Cantor continues to educate consumers through Cantor’s Corner, he tackles the next step in his Remodel Start to Finish series.
The design development phase of remodeling is very important to ensure a project stays on budget. Selecting finish materials and dealing with the interior design should be called out in the contract so that you and your contractor have the same expectations for the project. This phase may take 3-6 meetings with your designer, but is well worth investing the time up front.
Not all contractors identify the fixtures and finishes at the contract phase of the relationship, which can lead to challenges as your project gets underway.
